# Agent Guardrails Across Campaigns

> One person can be on many campaigns at once. These rules count every campaign together, so nobody gets an email from each of them.

Patterns overlap: a person who went quiet after visiting pricing can be in **Gone quiet**, **Visited /pricing** and a pattern you saved yourself, all at once. Each campaign's own **Frequency** counts only its own emails, so without a rule across them, ten campaigns could send one person ten emails on the same day.

**Settings → Agent guardrails** counts every campaign together, per person. (How much each mailbox sends in a day is a different limit, set on the mailbox under **Settings → Email**.)

- **Different campaigns stay apart**: 24 hours by default (off, 12, 24 or 48). After one campaign emails someone, the others wait. A campaign's own steps keep their own timing.
- **Most emails per person**: 3 in any 7 days by default (2 to 14, or no limit), every campaign together, each campaign's own included.
- **Pause when they write to you**: 3 days by default (off, 1, 3 or 7). After someone replies to any campaign, or emails your inbox, the other campaigns wait. The campaign they replied to follows its own **Leave when**. Out-of-office replies don't count.

#### When There's No Room

- The email waits for the next free slot. Waiting emails go one at a time, never all at once.
- When a slot opens, the best waiting email takes it: **Urgent** first, then the next email of a campaign already talking to them, then **Normal**, then **Low**, then whichever waited longest.
- An email Behavly writes is written when it actually sends, from what the person did by then.
- If the person left the campaign's group while the email waited (someone in **Gone quiet** came back), it's skipped.
- An email that waits 14 days is skipped, and the campaign moves on: what it reacted to is old by then.
- The person's timeline in the campaign says why: **Waiting for room across campaigns**, with the campaign that took the slot.

#### Priority

Each campaign has a **Priority across campaigns** under **Frequency**:

- **Urgent**: Never waits for these rules, though it still counts toward them. For emails people must act on, like a failed payment. A Trigger Campaign set to **A new case each time** is Urgent unless you change it.
- **Normal**: The default. Follows the rules.
- **Low**: Also waits 3 days after any other campaign's email. For newsletters and nurture.

Turn **Limit emails across campaigns** off to go back to each campaign following only its own frequency. Test sends and your own replies from the Unibox are never limited. The page also shows what the rules did in the last 30 days and how many people are on two or more campaigns right now.
