Every email on a path is one of two kinds, chosen when you add the step with +: Behavly Agent writes it for each person, and Email sends one of your templates.
Behavly Writes It
A Plain text by Behavly Agent step is written per person, from what that person did on your site, in your sender's voice. Instructions for Behavly Agent is where you say what the email is for. Leave it empty and Behavly decides from what each person did and where they are on the path.
What Each Email Is Written From
Every recipient belongs to one of four groups, and each group's email is written from different information:

Your Brand info is what you saved on Brand (company name, description, tagline, industry) plus what Behavly reads from the website you set there. It is the only ground an email stands on for anything it says about your product.
Private or business is decided the same way for contacts and leads. A recipient is a business when their address is at a company (anna@northwind.com), you sell to businesses, and their company's website can be read. Everyone else is private: personal addresses such as Gmail or Yahoo, people who signed up to a product for private people with their work address, a private person's own website, and companies whose website can't be read. Who you sell to is read from your Brand website and can be overridden in Settings → Account → AI & Privacy.
For a business contact, the campaign's group and their activity still decide what the email is about; their company only lets the payoff be said in their business's terms, in one sentence.
Each website is read once. What Behavly learns is stored for your workspace and reused by every later email: each step of a path, every colleague at the same company and every later campaign. It is read again after six months.
Every Email Knows The Path So Far
An email Behavly writes on a path is written when it sends, and it reads every earlier email on that path, in order, with whether the person opened or clicked each one. It picks up from how the last one landed and says something new instead of repeating them.
Send Your Own Copy
Add an Email step and pick one of your published templates. Send as designed sends it exactly as you built it, to everyone, and uses none of your personalized emails. Edited by Behavly keeps your design and edits the wording for each person from what they did.
Plain Text Or A Template
An email Behavly writes is plain text. To send a designed HTML email instead, use an Email step with one of your published templates. Templates are built and managed in Templates.
If AI Is Switched Off
A workspace that has turned AI off in Settings → Account → AI & Privacy sends templates as designed. A path with a step Behavly writes or edits can't be activated, and a running one pauses itself until AI is back on.
