Your First 15 Minutes

Behavly has three setup steps. The order matters: each one makes the next worth doing.

1. Install The Tracking Snippet

Go to Tracking → Setup, add your domain, and copy the generated snippet into your site. It looks like this, with your own write key in data-pid:

Paste it into the <head> of every page you want measured — including your signed-in pages, which is where the useful behaviour is. Then press Test script. Behavly polls until it sees either real events arriving or the snippet in your page's HTML.

Until this is installed there is no behaviour data, which means nothing to target with a campaign and nothing to analyse in Insights. This is the step that makes the rest of the product work.

2. Connect A Sending Account

Settings → Email → Connect. Connect your own mailbox over IMAP/SMTP, or an email service such as Resend or Amazon SES with its API key — Behavly does not send from its own servers under your name. Without one, campaigns cannot send.

The Inbox reads replies from an IMAP/SMTP mailbox only. Replies to emails sent through an email service go to the sending address instead; see Connect A Mailbox.

3. Create A Campaign

Automations asks whether a group or a trigger starts it, then opens the path builder: describe the path in words, or build it step by step. Nothing sends until you activate it, and with Review on, nothing Behavly writes sends until you release it too.

What Good Looks Like After 15 Minutes

• Your domain shows Tested in Tracking → Setup.
• Identified users are appearing in Tracking → Heatmaps.
• A mailbox is listed and marked primary in Settings → Email.

If the first two are not true, start at Tracking is installed but no events arrive.
