Best MCP servers for email marketing (2026)

Eight email platforms’ own MCP servers, compared on what Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor can do there, how you sign in, and what happens before an email sends.

By , Founder & CEO, FoundryX · Updated October 31, 2026 · Competitor details checked October 31, 2026 on each vendor’s own site

The best MCP servers for email marketing in 2026 are Behavly, Sequenzy, Customer.io, Klaviyo, Kit, MailerLite and Brevo, each run by the email platform itself, with Resend’s as the pick for developers who send from code. An MCP server can only do what its platform does, so the choice is mostly a choice of platform, and of how much an AI app may do there before you step in.

  • Behavly (our product): best for having an AI app build follow-up campaigns from user behavior, with every email written for one person and nothing sent to real people until you approve it.
  • Sequenzy: best for SaaS teams that want an agent to run campaigns, sequences and transactional email, with sending off by default.
  • Customer.io: best for fine-grained scopes, with live sending behind a permission an admin must allow.
  • Klaviyo: best for online stores, with a read-only switch and a short core tool list.
  • Kit: best for creators, with broadcasts sent only after you click Confirm in Kit.
  • MailerLite: best for small businesses that want subscribers, campaigns, automations and forms within reach of their AI app.
  • Brevo: best for one connection across email, SMS, WhatsApp and a CRM, or one module at a time.
  • Resend: best for developers sending transactional email and broadcasts from code.

An MCP server lets an AI app such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor work inside another product for you: look up results, build a campaign, change a list. For what changes when an agent does the writing too, see agentic email marketing.

How we picked

We only list servers the email platform runs itself, not third-party wrappers, and read each vendor’s own documentation on October 31, 2026. For each one we checked four things:

  • Where it runs and how you sign in: a hosted URL, a local package, OAuth or an API key.
  • What an AI app can do: read results only, build drafts, or change live campaigns.
  • What happens before an email reaches real people: an approval step, a permission an admin grants, or nothing at all.
  • Who can use it: which plans and which roles.

Behavly is our product, and it’s listed first. Facts about every other server are linked to the vendor page they come from. Where a vendor’s docs didn’t cover a point, we left it out rather than guess.

Behavly: follow-up campaigns built from your AI app

Behavly is our product. Its MCP server gives an AI app the same actions as Behavly Agent, the chat inside Behavly: campaigns, contacts and patterns, the inbox, templates, insights, email accounts and settings. Ask Claude for a follow-up to users who stalled during setup, and it builds the campaign in your workspace, with your role and your plan’s limits.

What the app builds is not one draft for everyone. When a person reaches an email step, Behavly writes that email from what they did on your site and in your product, in their language, and sends it from your own mailbox. In Claude Code, connecting takes one command:

claude mcp add --transport http behavly https://behavly.io/api/mcp

In Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, Cursor or VS Code, add the same URL as a custom connector or MCP server and sign in with Continue with Behavly. The steps for each app are in Connect AI Apps And Other Tools.

Behavly’s path builder: settings for the whole path in a bar across the top, including sender, goal, sending window and review, and below it the path itself, with who enters, then emails written by Behavly Agent with a two-day wait between them.
A campaign path in Behavly. An AI app connected over MCP can build the same thing for you.

Subject: Your booking page is one step away

Hi Sam,

You connected your calendar on Tuesday and opened the booking page settings twice, but your availability is still blank, so nobody can book you yet.

The weekday template fills in 9 to 5 in your time zone, and you can trim it from there.

Behavly wrote this from Sam’s own activity. The AI app set up the path; it didn’t write the email.

Where it’s strong
About 150 tools, with an areas setting (for example ?areas=campaigns, inbox) for apps that load fewer. Read only access for apps that should only look. Deleting and sending email to real people wait for your approval in Behavly. Changes show in the audit log via MCP, and Workspace access turns every key off at once.
What sets it apart
The campaigns an AI app builds here write every email for the person receiving it, from their own behavior. The same actions are in a REST API (POST /api/v1/{action}), with docs at /api/v1/docs and an OpenAPI file at /api/v1/openapi.json.
Pricing
Every plan can use MCP and the API, Free included. What an app does counts toward your plan exactly as if you did it in Behavly.

Sequenzy: an agent for a SaaS email program

Sequenzy’s MCP server runs remotely at https://api.sequenzy.com/v1/mcp with OAuth, or locally with npx -y @sequenzy/mcp and an API key. Its agent page lists 200+ tools and names Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf and Codex among the clients.

Where it’s strong
Access levels, starting from Safer agent access, the default, which can read and draft but can’t send live emails or delete data. New sequences and campaigns start as drafts. A separate ChatGPT endpoint leaves out tools that return secrets.
Worth knowing
Its AI drafts emails and sequences for you to approve, not a separate email for each recipient. See Behavly vs Sequenzy.
Pricing
MCP, API and CLI access are on every plan, Free included (2,500 emails a month).

Customer.io: scopes for every kind of access

Customer.io’s server runs at https://mcp.customer.io/mcp, with a separate address for EU accounts. Each person signs in with their own login, so the assistant gets that person’s role, and an account admin turns it on in Settings > AI.

Where it’s strong
Scopes: read by default, read:sensitive, write for drafts of automations, segments, one-time sends and templates, write:live to send messages, and configure. Read, write and delete calls are separate tools, so your app can ask before each kind.
Worth knowing
Live sending and sensitive data each need an admin setting as well as the scope. Its docs suggest the CLI for agents that run in a terminal.
Pricing
On every plan; Essentials starts at $100/month for 5,000 profiles.

Klaviyo: read-only and core-tool switches

Klaviyo’s remote server at https://mcp.klaviyo.com/mcp uses OAuth, with setup for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and other remote clients. Its overview describes tasks from campaign creation to flow performance reports.

Where it’s strong
read-only=true turns off every write tool, core-tools-only cuts the list to about 30 core tools, and toolsets exposes only tools inside the API scopes you name. A local server runs with a private API key.
Worth knowing
Only Owner, Admin and Manager roles can use the remote server. The docs we read don’t say whether it can send a campaign.

Kit: confirm before anything sends

Kit’s server at https://app.kit.com/mcp connects through a sign-in in your browser. It reads subscribers, sequences, broadcast results and commerce data, and can tag subscribers, enroll people in sequences, and draft and schedule broadcasts, according to Kit’s MCP page.

Where it’s strong
Each tool is labelled read, write or destructive. Sending a broadcast, deleting a sequence, unsubscribing someone or firing a webhook returns a link, and nothing happens until you click Confirm in Kit.
Worth knowing
Access is account-wide at editor level, with no per-user limits yet, and 120 requests a minute per connection. On the free plan you can connect, but running a tool asks you to upgrade.

MailerLite: broad coverage for small businesses

MailerLite’s server is a streamable HTTP endpoint at https://mcp.mailerlite.com/mcp, with setup for Claude, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, VS Code, Cursor and ChatGPT.

Where it’s strong
Subscribers, groups, segments, fields, forms, campaigns, automations, templates, email content, e-commerce data and webhooks, all in one server. A dry-run tool checks an automation without sending anything.
Worth knowing
Campaigns go out through a scheduling tool, and the page describes no approval step of its own.

Brevo: one server or one module at a time

Brevo’s server at https://mcp.brevo.com/v1/brevo/mcp covers 27 modules, and each module also has its own smaller server, such as contacts or deals. You connect with an API key created with the MCP option, under Account > SMTP & API > API Keys.

Where it’s strong
One connection reaches email campaigns, templates, contacts and segments, SMS and WhatsApp campaigns, the CRM and account settings. Single-module servers keep the tool list short.
Worth knowing
The key goes into your app’s config file, and the page describes no read-only option or approval step.

Resend: for developers sending from code

Resend is an email API for developers. Its hosted server at https://mcp.resend.com/mcp signs in with OAuth, or takes an API key where no browser is available, and the same open-source server runs locally with npx -y resend-mcp.

Where it’s strong
Every Resend API: sending and scheduling email, broadcasts, contacts and segments, templates, automations and events, domains, webhooks and received email. Documented for a long list of clients, from Claude and Cursor to Codex, Gemini CLI and Zed.
Worth knowing
Built for sending from code, and the docs describe no approval step before an email goes out.

Others worth knowing

  • Vero: a server at https://mcp.getvero.com/mcp, in early access through Vero support and included on all Vero plans at no extra fee. Its tools create and edit broadcast drafts; journeys are read-only for now.
  • ActiveCampaign: a remote MCP server with connection guides for Claude and ChatGPT.
  • Mailchimp: the Marketing developer site’s MCP server searches Mailchimp’s docs, not your account. Mailchimp Transactional has an account server at https://mandrillapp.com/mcp, with nine tools and an API key.

Before you connect one

  • Start read-only. Behavly’s Read only access, Klaviyo’s read-only=true and Customer.io’s default read scope let an assistant look without changing anything.
  • Trim the tool list. Some apps load only so many tools. Behavly’s areas, Klaviyo’s core tools and Brevo’s single-module servers keep the list short.
  • Know what can send. Check whether sending waits for you (Behavly, Kit), needs a wider permission (Sequenzy, Customer.io), or isn’t gated at all.
  • Know how to cut it off. Behavly and Kit disconnect an app from their own settings, and revoking an API key stops everything using it.

Once an assistant can build campaigns, the next step is letting an agent follow up on its own. See AI follow-up agents for what that looks like.

Questions

What is the best MCP server for email marketing?
For SaaS teams emailing their own users, Behavly: an AI app can build follow-up campaigns in your workspace, Behavly writes each email for the person receiving it, and nothing reaches real people without your approval. To run a whole SaaS email program from an agent, Sequenzy. For scoped multi-channel access, Customer.io. For stores, Klaviyo; for creators, Kit.
Can an AI assistant send email through an MCP server?
It depends on the server. Behavly holds sending to real people until you approve it in Behavly, and Kit waits for Confirm in Kit. Sequenzy’s default access can’t send live emails, and Customer.io needs the write:live scope, which an admin must allow.
Which AI apps work with Behavly’s MCP server?
Any app that supports MCP. The Help Center has steps for Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, Cursor, Claude Code and VS Code: add https://behavly.io/api/mcp as a custom connector and sign in with Continue with Behavly.
Is Behavly’s MCP server included in every plan?
Yes. Every Behavly plan can use MCP and the API, Free included. What an app does counts toward your plan exactly as if you did it in Behavly, such as the personalized emails Behavly writes.
Does Mailchimp have an MCP server?
Mailchimp’s Marketing developer site runs an MCP server that searches its API documentation, not your account. Mailchimp Transactional has an account server at https://mandrillapp.com/mcp, with nine tools, which connects with an API key.
